Efforts to assist injured eagle Ma Delta from the Hancock Wildlife eaglecam continue..

Hancock Delta

Efforts continue to try to lure Ma Delta to waiting food on the ground near the nest in hopes that she will get comfortable taking food from that spot, so that a trapping attempt can happen.  The overall plan is to use a bow net.  This morning David Hancock (of Hancock Wildlife) delivered a Bow Perch and nice large fish.  The perch is there to make it easier for Ma to land.  The net has not been set up yet, since, so far, she has not been seen feeding on the food placed out.   If she does begin to avail herself of the food, then my understanding is that the full trap will be set up, but not until then.  They don’t want to trap a different eagle, or scare Ma away.    The picture shows David Hancock, the fish that was delivered and the bow perch.  Best link for viewing at the moment is the two cam page with chat at http://www.hancockwildlife.org/staticpages/index.php/Delta2-TwoCamsChat

  1. Twizz,
Thanks for the update. Talons crossed here too. David is THE man to help Ma Delta if she’ll just accept his food. My thoughts and prayers are with Ma and those helping her. I know you will keep us posted. Thank you.

    1. Which videos Toni? Do you mean the Delta Wild Earth cams? Yes there is a bit of a secret on getting them to load fully. Once the “loading” box in the middle of the window goes away, you can click the big arrow at the bottom. And then when you start to see something, it usually helps to click the words “Live Stream” in the upper right corner. Hope that helps. If not, let me know! Twizzkid
