Mom Decorah laid her second egg this afternoon in 14 deg weather with winds at 15mph, gusting to 26mph (per the Weather channel). Like a champ, she moved around, rolled the eggs and got back down to incubating without giving us even the tiniest peek as she protected the eggs from the weather. We did get a peek about a half hour later as she rolled the eggs again. Tonight the Weather channel is predicting -13deg with wind at 22mph, wind chill possible down to -35deg. Keep that down undercoat fluffed Mom Decorah! And Dad is bringing in more grass/straw for insulation as I write this. Talons crossed that all goes well!
