Just a few days before hatch watch time, Alcoa is reporting that it appears the single egg is gone. There has not been a parent on the nest for the past hour that I’ve been watching, which reaffirms that something seems to have happened to the egg and that there is not a hatch. This pair made a gallant effort this year, laying another egg well after the first one laid was lost, but unfortunately, now it looks like the second egg is lost too. drat. Sadly, an unexpectedly empty nest at Alcoa Davenport

so very sorry for your loss. we also lost both of ours this year too. it has been an awful year for our bald eagles.
Egg may be hidden still, by that branch? down in the nest bowl, covered? But this is a long time to be gone…so sad…I hope Liberty and Justice are alright!!! ❤ ❤
My heartfelt condolences go out to all of you. We here at the Hays Nest in Pittsburgh, PA know what you must be going through. We also lost both of our eggs. Nature can be very cruel at times. Prayers for all of you. Soar high and free little ones.
It’s sad for us-Nature is on a different agenda than what we would like sometimes. 😦
