Sad news for the Norfolk eagle pair – the female has been killed

While not a cam nest these days, I know that many followed the saga of the Norfolk Botanical Garden eagles (which did have a cam for many years), with the loss of the original Mom Norfolk due to a plane strike, then the repeated removal of the eagle’s nest in the Botanical Gardens in an effort to evict Dad Norfolk as he tried to rebuild and select a new mate.  Happily Dad Norfolk did find a new mate and built a safe nest outside the garden, with a chick raised to fledge last year.  Sadly we are hearing today that Dad Norfolk’s current mate (identified as  HE – one of Dad Norfolk’s offspring from 2009) was killed yesterday.    For more info: https://www.facebook.com/NorfolkBotanicalGardenEagleAlliance

  1. Ohhhhh this is so sad, poor Dad Norfolk cant catch a break. Hopefully he will find a mate soon, I know after Ma was killed he had a few ladies quickly interested in him, I hope this is still so. Thanks for posting this Twizz, thanks for always keeping us in the know. *heavy heart*
