June 6 update on injured eaglet E8’s recovery – continued improvement!

Here’s the update from CROW’s Facebook page today:

“E8 UPDATE: E8’s IM pin (intramedullary pin) which is used to join fracture bones has been removed from the right leg. Additional pins remain in the eaglets right leg and will be removed as the leg continues to improve. Since being moved to the outside small flight enclosure last week, the eaglet has been bright, alert and perching on higher perches. E8 still requires assisted feedings but recently ate full rats and a large fish on its own.”

  1. So pleased that human intervention has been so successful! YAY for E8’s ability to withstand shock of injury and heal so nicely. Bouquets to all who have helped save this precious bird. Would be nice to see a recent picture if possible? Thanks!
