The tree holding the Pittsburgh Hays eagle nest has fallen over in a windstorm!

Wow! The tree holding the Hays nest has fallen!   Based on reviews of the footage, the Audubon Society says it looks like the eagle that was incubating one egg, successfully flew away as the tree fell.  They will confirm status in daylight.   Here is a video posted by skygirlblue showing the moment the tree fell.   So sad to lose their first egg.  Here’s hoping the eagle pair will have time to rebuild a nest for this season!

  1. Just wanted to let you know, that the Hays eagles have been spotted rebuilding. The tree was blown down from wind storm and first egg was lost. They are rebuilding a few hundred yards away from where the tree and nest was that was blown down. YEAH ………
