Quick update: Upper Mississippi Trio nest – male parent caring for eaglets

In an update on their Facebook page tonight, they have indicated that one of the male parents has fed and warmed the chicks, and continues to do so, so a little bit of good news following the concerns about the missing female.  Talons crossed that the parents are able to continue to care for the little ones.   They indicated that they may turn the cam on again, but nothing definite so far.

  1. This page was sent to me after I inquired about the tiny camera view of the nest. I am wondering if anything happened to the nest in the last day or two. I visit the site almost daily so it would be news that occurred on 4/13 or today I believe. The news on this page is old news that happened several weeks ago. I know all about this and the subsequent attacks on the nest that continue to occur. The last attack I know about was on 4/4. I would appreciate any current news you might know about. Thanks in advance.

    1. Hi Janiece, I just checked and I can currently see the live feed (about 8 pm nest time on Friday night Apr 14). There is one adult on the nest and both eaglets are sleeping. I checked for any reports of problems and didn’t see that anyone has reported any problems with the eagles in the past couple of days. They have mentioned that some people are having trouble seeing the cam feed on their website, so perhaps you are experiencing the issues that others are in problems with the web page. I hope that helps.

  2. What is the status of the Trio nest? Is it off line? I cannot see anything about the eagles…

  3. Hi,

I’ve seen many e-cams leaving the camera on while one eaglett beats the daylights out of the others for food and supremacy. I understand the fit survive but this seems far crueler than what you are omitting. Please turn the camera back on.
