Pip seen in second egg at NCTC Shepherdstown, first hatchling appears not to have survived

It looks like hatch number 2 is underway at the NCTC nest.  Sadly cam watchers have noted that the first hatchling has not been seen recently and is presumed to have not survived.  Link to cam: http://outdoorchannel.com/eaglecam

    1. I just checked with those watching consistently and they are reporting 3 feedings today, which seems to be a good sign. I watched just now and saw a parent trying to give food, but the little one wasn’t eating, so probably full from earlier feedings. What are you seeing that concerns you? There were also some reports that the parents had to deal with some intruder activity, so that may have pulled the parents away from the nest for a bit. hope that helps.
